The Access Hunger Walk is an annual 5k walk through downtown Grand Rapids. Four decades ago, members of our community recognized an urgent need to fund organizations working to reduce poverty locally and internationally. They founded the first Hunger Walk, a way to publicly show support and provide financial resources to neighbors in need. The response was remarkable! As a result, the Hunger Walk became an annual tradition. Since 1977, the Hunger Walk has involved thousands of individuals, businesses, and congregations who have collectively raised more than $6 million!
The Pantry is a recipient agency for the 40th Annual Hunger Walk and we would love for you to join our team! We are looking for volunteers and walkers to support us on Sunday, May 7th. The walk begins and ends at Park Church located at 10 E. Park Pl. NE, and winds through downtown Grand Rapids. Registration will begin at 1:30pm and we’ll kick off the walk at 2:30pm. We’ll have fun activities for the family, live music, and amazing local food trucks- it’s going to be a blast!
