Covid 19 Update

Mar 18, 2020 By

As we move forward towards a new normal, The Green Apple is working hard to ensure that we stay healthy and are able to meet the needs of our neighbors.

We have established a new policy for checking in our neighbors and the distribution of food to those who have a need. This will be a fluid process and we will make mistakes along the way; things may change many times before we get it right.

We are getting requests from the community for ways to help. We appreciate these calls and are amazed by the thoughtfulness of others during this time of uncertainty.

We have called off most of our volunteers in order to adhere to social distancing requirements. We anticipate that we may have a need for volunteers who could make deliveries for food to our seniors or those with limited access to transportation.

In order to protect our community, I believe that food drives are not a good idea currently; therefore, we would appreciate monetary donations. We have considerable purchasing power through Feeding America and Meijer Simply Give.

The Green Apple is committed to remaining open and serving our neighbors. Things may look very differently, but we will do our best to continue to serve our neighbors with grace and compassion.

Please be patient with us during this time of change. For more info on Covid-19, please follow the link here.
