Gala

Oct 28, 2024 By

With a heart full of gratitude thank you to everyone who attended our Fall Harvest Gala. The food was delicious and the evening was a huge success. Without the support of this community, we couldn’t continue to fulfill our mission of providing for the nutritional needs of our neighbors.

I cannot wait to see where the next 40 years take us.

Fall Harvest Gala 10/17/24

Oct 8, 2024 By

The Green Apple Pantry is excited to share that we are bringing back the Fall Harvest Gala, the biggest fundraiser of the year! This year we are celebrating our 40th year of service to this community and our goal is to raise $40K! Please join us to come dance, sing, taste delicious food and help others in your own community at the KC Event Center on Thursday, October 17, 2024 from 6-9 p.m.

The 2024 theme will be “Foods From Around the World” because FOOD IS A LANGUAGE EVERYONE SPEAKS! Stations will be setup in the ballroom where you will be able to eat the finest food from local, West Michigan chefs.

Tickets are $50 each. All proceeds will benefit local southern Grand Rapids and Kentwood area families in zip codes 49508, 49548, 49512, and 49316.

The GAP seeks to improve the lives of our neighbors by providing nourishment to those most in need. Currently, 1 in 7 neighbors in West Michigan are at risk of hunger. Food insecurity can affect people in all walks of life. Many are one job or medical expense away from not having enough food.

Over the past year, we have seen a 30% increase in neighbors needing our help. This year more than ever we need your financial support. Please help us reach our goal this year, by donating here.

Sponsorships are available for the event with four levels to choose from. The night will feature a silent and LIVE auction and the GAP is looking for donations for both. If you are interested in donating auction items or sponsoring the Gala, please contact Nancy Cromley, Executive Director. We hope to see you soon, thank you for helping feed others.

A lot has changed over the last 40 years, but one thing remains constant, our commitment to serving this community.

USPS! WOW!

May 13, 2024 By

On Saturday, a remarkable 14,000 pounds of food were collected and donated to The Green Apple Pantry via the Letter Carrier Food Drive!

Currently, 11 pallets of donations are being meticulously sorted and organized for our neighbors. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who participated, and to Postmaster Andrea along with the team of mail carriers who delivered the donations one truckload at a time. We are immensely grateful!
